FiB for Distributed Manufacturing as we see
Companies in the clear aligner and related industries have sought to remain competitive by adopting a centralised production strategy to justify their high capital investments. Building entire factories around the universal capabilities of 3D printers is highly expensive. We aim to approach the industry from a different perspective.

Sustainable Fabrication
Desyo introduces various 'Factory-in-a-Box' (FiB) concepts, each capable of ensuring high-volume production of bespoke dental solutions. These solutions leverage advanced technologies and materials that can be largely recovered and reintegrated into the production cycle, promoting a nearly waste-free approach. Additionally, Desyo’s localised manufacturing model significantly reduces global emissions by minimising the need for long-distance transportation of in-demand dental products. Desyo advocates for a shift from centralised to locally distributed manufacturing, not only to support environmental sustainability but also to enhance treatment quality through the direct involvement of experts, ensuring a more responsive and controlled production process.

Production
Desyo aims to develop an innovative manufacturing framework based on small, local, and agile production units, 'Mini-factories', that enable advanced fabrication operations with a local-to-local approach. These highly flexible systems operate on an 'on-demand' ordering platform, ensuring no difference in efficiency whether a request is for 10 or 100 items such as aligners. Desyo’s systems guarantee variable production volumes and seamlessly manage the flow of information between individual users (demand) and manufacturing units (supply) in real time.
Treatment
Consumer demand for personalised, comfortable, safe, and sustainable products is growing. Easier access to digital systems for scanning biometric data is driving the rise of more dynamic treatment. However, the current production approach, particularly in centralised factories, relies on 3D printing systems that operate in batch processes. This model supports and necessitates an upfront, fully produced treatment. Desyo offers solutions for efficiently producing small quantities of products. Its on-demand platform enables the production of limited units and, when combined with localised manufacturing, creates a more flexible treatment process by reducing the need for refinements. Dentists can progressively produce a few units and adjust the plan as needed.
